Course Information

Evening Welding Course

Designed for those who want to practice and improve their welding skills but are unable to attend during the day, this hands-on course runs from 6PM to 9:15 PM over Two consecutive Wednesdays evenings in our fully equipped welding school.

Participants will have the opportunity to weld using MIG or MMA (stick) techniques with industry-standard machines and materials. A fully qualified tutor will be available throughout the sessions to provide guidance, tips, and support to help you refine your skills.

Course Content

A short, but necessary Health and Safety talk. This will cover hazards and dangers involved in the welding process and how to overcome these safely.
We will discuss how both the MMA and MIG welding process works. How to identify and set up the equipment correctly needed for each process. Correct set up/shut down procedures
How to correctly and efficiently prepare the material prior to welding
You will be shown how to correctly lay a bead before progressing onto a varitey of different welded joints such as Lap / Butt / Tee Joints
An industry experienced and qualified tutor will be on hand at all times for advice and guidance.
What makes a good and a bad weld and why, with this we will be identifying weld faults and how to correct them by changing technique/machine setup or prep work
The correct setup of the welding machine in relation to the type of material / material thickness and welding position

What to Wear:

  • Please wear suitable work clothing for the environment.
  • Long-sleeved garments and protective footwear are essential.
  • If you do not have suitable clothing, welders' overalls and steel-toe boots can be provided on the day at a competitive price.
  • Welding headshields are available for purchase, starting from £25.

Protective Gear Provided:

  • A leather apron and welding gauntlets will be supplied.

Health Considerations:

  • If you have a heart pacemaker or wear contact lenses, please consult your doctor and/or optician before booking this course.

Refreshments:

  • Tea and coffee / Bottled water are included in the course price.

  • Cancellations: Participant cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • Refund Policy: No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 21 days before the course start date.
  • Course Cancellations: If Allied Welding & Engineering Supplies Ltd cancels the course, a full refund or rebooking will be offered.
  • A minimum number of participants is required for the course to run.
  • Please inform us of any medical conditions before attending.

Certification & Ongoing Support

Course Completion Certification:

  • Upon completion of all our courses, you will receive official certification.
  • For our in-house courses, you will be awarded a Certificate of Competence from our approved training centre, provided in paper format and signed by your tutor.
  • For our City & Guilds courses, you will receive a City & Guilds accreditation, which typically arrives within two weeks of course completion.
